It's definitely not perfect, but it's useful as a starting point (I was even able to build an image with these changes).

and I've sent some additional fixes for meta-oe, meta-virtualization to the ML.

Now I'm testing meta-ros (biggest layer I use) to build with converted metadata with dunfell, gatesgarth, hardknott.

If it builds I'll start comparing the images before and after the syntax change, then compare the signatures dumped with openembedded-core/scripts/sstate-diff-machines.sh.
