Summary: After reboot, FN/Home keys do not work on first gpe
                    login
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: Angstrom
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Distributions
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: carbonfreeze at gmail.com
         QAContact: tinderbox-oe at gmx.net

After rebooting the machine (reboot -n in text term) and logging into gpe, the
FN key and home line keys do not appear to work properly. Issue appears to
depend on whether or not you press FN+left to view the verbose boot output
while angstrom is loading. If you press FN+left, the FN keys do not function
after gpe login, but if you leave it on the boot-splash progress bar it
functions correctly.

Keys that are effected:
FN brightness control (FN+3 FN+4)
Caps Lock (FN+Tab)
Calendar Button
Address Button
Mail Button
Home Button
Menu Button

In mrxvt, pressing FN+3/4 outputs numbers only, and the various buttons appear
to output tilde (~) characters when pressed. However most of the other
FN+letter combinations appear to work properly.

dmesg has some alignment trap output:
<4>Alignment trap: keylaunch (1430) PC=0x402053d8 Instru=0xe5102004
Address=0x00026d15 FSR 0x013

Steps to reproduce:
1). Reboot device.
2). After boot-splash appears, press FN+left to see boot spam.
3). Login to GPE
4). Find out you are unable to adjust brightness or use buttons.

Note that you are still able to adjust brightness on the gpe-login screen with
FN+3 or FN+4, or change terminals, before you login; even if you changed to the
verbose logging during boot.

You can get FN keys working again by issuing a Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restart X
and login to gpe again (FN key works to adjust brightness on login screen
still).

Used Angstrom-x11-image-glibc-test-20070605-spitz.rootfs.tar.gz as install
media on
machine spitz (slc-3000), fresh ipkg update;ipkg upgrade performed as of bug
report.
